Police say on Monday, January 23, 2017 at approximately 11:30 p.m. three men entered Honey Farms and robbed the store at gunpoint. There were no customers in the store at the time.
“The first suspect entered wearing a mask and went to the rear of the store where the clerk was working and displayed a firearm,” said Upton Police Chief Michael Bradley. “He escorted the clerk to the front of the store and demanded she open the cash register.”
Bradley said another “suspect filled a backpack with cigarettes and displayed a stun gun, arcing the device as the clerk attempted to open the register”.
“All three suspects left the store on foot towards Hartford Avenue, where we believe they entered a vehicle to flee the scene,” said Bradley.
The crime remains under investigation while police interview potential witnesses and review surveillance footage.
No one was injured during the robbery. A small amount of cash was taken from the register.
