Russell Wood 2017 Upton Citizen of the Year

Russell Wood was recently honored as the 2017 Upton Citizen of the Year by Upton Grange #125. Known to be a true friend to the people of Upton, Russell exemplifies the spirit of Upton.

If something is planned or needed for the good of the community, it seems you will find Russ pitching in. Russ and his wife Pat are life-long Upton “townies” and their family has a long tradition of community service.

Russ always makes time to serve the Upton community. He’s a member of the Upton Historical Commission, a member of the CPC, the past President and a current member & volunteer of the Upton Historical Society, and the Commander of Marshall Leland Post 173 of the American Legion.

It seems Russ is everywhere, always with a quick friendly smile, and a helping hand, always making some great burgers at the VFW cruise night during the summer and at the refreshment table at Historical Society meetings.

Our community would not be the same without his leadership and service. He is a Community Hero in every way.

Congratulations Russ!
