Grafton-Valley Tech Hockey Season for the Ages

TEMPLATE-for-HOCKEY-Web-Photos-1.jpg

After two heart-stopping games early in the playoffs, the Grafton-Valley Tech hockey team defeated South Hadley 4-0 at the Mass Mutual Center on March 15 to win the Division 3A Massachusetts State Championship. The history-making team is asking the community to help commemorate its first ever state championship win by donating to the team’s championship fund.

Blackstone Valley Tech consistently utilizes a nontraditional approach with its fundraising efforts, but the two-district nature of this venture invites a more traditional approach. The team is looking to local businesses and other fundraising efforts to help purchase championship rings and jackets for members of the varsity team. The community’s donations will defer the costs of the rings and jackets that will be a lasting symbol of the ice hockey team’s once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment.

Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged in the program booklet at the presentation of the jackets and rings. Platinum level sponsors ($1,000 donation or above) will receive a full page recognition, gold level sponsors ($500-$999 donation) will receive a half page recognition, silver level sponsors ($250-$499 donation), bronze level sponsors ($100-$249 donation) and honorable level sponsors ($1-$99 donation) will receive a listing recognition in the program booklet.

Checks can be made out to BVT Athletics with GVT Hockey in the notes and returned to Blackstone Valley Tech at 65 Pleasant Street, Upton, MA 01568. A donation to the team is considered a 501(c)(3) donation, and a confirmation of the donation along with the federal tax ID number for a person’s records will be sent to all donators.
