Yesterday around 9:30 a.m. it was still snowing at good clip. I heard there was a disabled school bus stuck in a snow bank at the bottom of Prospect Street, wanting a story I had my hubby snow blow me out so I could grab photos. It was around 10:00 a.m. when I hopped in my car to grab the images of the reported stuck bus. By the time I had arrived there was no sign of a bus. The roads were slick and the snow continued to fall. On my way home I pulled in to Warren Road because an SUV was on my tail, really in the middle of a snow storm on my tail.
I decided while I was pulled over I wold grab a photo of Pleasant Street. This is when I totally embarrassed my high school daughter. I saw Steve Smith of 29 Pleasant Street digging out his car. I didn’t get a photo of the bus and figured why not grab a photo of “the digging out of Upton.” He was very pleasant and friendly when I approached him and when I asked if I could take his photo he smiled and said “sure.”
Driving down Henry’s Path I came across Mark Silvestri and Dave Krasnecky helping out neighbor, Theresa Mendell who is the mother of two small children. I have seen the two men take care of Theresa’s driveway all winter. Later I contacted Theresa who said “”I have the best neighbors in Upton…I couldn’t have gotten through this long winter without their help”
Needless to say at 10:30 a.m. yesterday it was still snowing hard and continued to snow throughout the day. When the snow finally ended around 4 p.m. Upton was left with close to 16 inches of snow. Upton dug out, neighbors helped out.
