Amy Casey is running the Boston Marathon with the Mass General Hospital Team -Fighting Kids Cancer..One Step at a Time.
Amy is running for her nephew Liam who was diagnosed with a Rhabdomyosarcoma tumor on his right lung when he was 5 months old in December 2006. Liam underwent extensive treatment at Mass General where Amy says “the doctors and nurses treated Liam and his family with such kindness—the staff offered continuous reassurance, care and compassion, which undoubtedly helped my sister-in-law and her family with daily struggles.”
For the past four years a member of Amy’s family has run with the Mass General Team for Liam, this year is her turn. It’s Amy’s first marathon, she hasn’t had a lot of time to train this year and was hoping to run 17 miles this past weekend.
