On Tuesday, March 12, 2013 the Miscoe Hill Middle School hosted a festival of arts.
Artwork created by students in grades 5 through 8 was displayed in the upper gym which was bursting with many different types of art; self portraits, color blocking, photography, blackout poetry, fashion design, and pottery just to name a few. The students of Mrs. Gentili and Mr. Hanson are truly talented. In an effort to share the experience of the art festival one art piece from each grade was photographed.
5th grade – Self Portrait Charles H.
6th grade – How to Eat Steak no name
7/8th grade – Flowering Tree Isabelle T
7/8th grade – Self Portrait Ema P
Music was performed by students in the auditorium throughout the evening. Sam Heye was one of the students, he wowed the audience with “The Video Game Master Theme Song” performed on the piano. Miranda dosSantos also performed a lovely selection on the alto saxophone.
Visitors could also participate in Spanish karaoke and view technology presentations.
The evening was a great success for the arts! Leave a comment if you agree!
