Yes, it’s that time a year again. Flowers are being bought, hair appointments are being made and the creative juices are flowing, as the guys prepare to pop the question, “Will you go to prom with me?” Once the question is asked the shopping begins.
The girls always look like they are walking the red carpet during the promenade hosted at Nipmuc High School before the young adults leave for their special evening. It’s always exciting to see what the girls will be wearing. Some color trends for this year’s prom are metallic tones, blue, red, bright pinks/purple and prints. Shapes are still very much what most flatter the girl; mermaid, high-low hems, traditional ball gowns to straight cuts. Some fun fashion trends this year are ruffles, tiers and sparkles with sequins making a huge comeback.
Below is a gallery of prom photos from last year and some of this years prom dress trends. I can’t wait to see the girls and guys this year! Prom is May 17.
Upton resident Brenda Demers recommends eliminating some of the photo taking stress on prom day by hiring a professional photographer for the event “it helps the parents out and lets them enjoy the time watching their little adults going off to such a big event.” Brenda owns Photofun and is offering group prom packages for approximately $7 per person, call Brenda for details 508-529-9821.
