Mr. and Mrs. Clue are Tough Mudders!

P1060808On Saturday, June 1, Kevin Clue and Diane Giombetti Clue will be participating in their second Tough Mudder event at Gunstock Mountain in NH. Tough Mudders are held all over the US and around the world – the US ones are huge fundraisers for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Tough Mudder is a hardcore 10-13-mile-long course with military-style obstacles. Camaraderie is one of the hallmarks of the events. It’s not at all unusual to see members of different teams helping each other through obstacles. And it’s truly inspiring to see Mudders (as the participants are also called) from the military take part – sometimes walking/running on prosthetic blades or even riding in wheelchairs, where they are pushed, lifted, and carried by their comrades.

Kevin and Diane did their first Tough Mudder last May at Mount Snow in Vermont; it was a life-changing experience and they’re excited for this year’s Mudder.

They’ve been training since January and will be raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project through online fundraising pages. Last year Diane raised just over $700 in donations with many of the donations coming from the generous members of the Uptonmoms Yahoo Group. The goal this year is to raise $1000.
