Upton – Carolyn (Wood) Fairbanks, 100, of Upton, died Saturday April 27, 2013 at home. She was the wife of the late Arthur Fairbanks who died in 1971.
A longtime resident of Upton, Mrs. Fairbanks was employed in the payroll office for Kraft Foods Inc., retiring in 1977.
She was born on December 18, 1912 in Upton, the daughter of the late Fred W. and Flora (Walker) Wood. She was a graduate of Upton High School and attended Becker Junior College in Worcester.
Mrs. Fairbanks was devoted to her family and loved to travel.
She is survived by two nephews, Kenneth and his wife Helen Wood of Upton and Robert K. and his wife Patricia Wood of Hopedale and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth W. Wood, Kendall Wood and Clayton Wood and a niece Eleanor Pond.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Parish of Upton, Central Square, Upton.
Burial will be at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery, Upton.
