The National Weather Service has updated the alert to be a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1:00 a.m.
Thursday (May 30) morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the possibility of severe thunderstorms this evening. Scattered thunderstorms were developing across upstate NY this afternoon and are expected in our are this evening. Those with outdoor plans should be prepared to find shelter immediately if thunderstorms approach. When thunder roars, go indoors. Heavy rain is expected with the storms.
After the storms pass a warm front moves in bringing with it a heat wave with temperatures reaching the 90s for Thursday through Sunday.
