Huh? Snapping turtles climb? Well at least they do in Groton, MA and I guess everywhere…
I was reading a Lowell Sun article a few weeks ago about a snapping turtle who climbed a fence a Groton residence had installed to keep fox away from her backyard chickens. Why was the turtle climbing the fence, I think the turtle was visiting his chicken friends. Sounds like it could be a children’s book. On the fence there’s a little turtle. In the yard there are little chickens. The turtle climbs the fence and meets the chicks, the chicks say peep while the foxes sleep.
Anyway, although this was a surprise to me, after some research I determined it’s really no big deal. Did you know turtles were climbers?
