1st Place Sunfish
The Upton Police Department held its 24th Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 1st at Pratt Pond. It was a hot day with temperatures reaching in the 90s, but the breeze off of Pratt Pond made for enjoyable fishing weather, especially in the shade.
Keeping cool in the shade that day were eight year old Paige and her Grandpa. Paige was having a great day with her Grandpa, she caught 4 fish. Brooke, a ten year old who attends Memorial School, caught 2 fish; one 8″ and one 6.5″. She said fishing with her Dad was fun.
Liana, an eight year who attends Clough, was the leader in the Sunfish category with an 8.75 inch fish. Liana was fishing with her Dad and it appears she was able to keep her lead and take 1st place.
