Bicycle Recycle – 9 a.m. – noon. – Have an old bike or sewing machine you haven’t used in a while and don’t know what do with? Donate it to a great cause this weekend at the Bicycle Recycle event being held at United Parish Church, 1 Church St., Upton.
Upton Land Stewardship Work Party – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Upton Land Stewardship has a work party at Sweetwilliam Farm this weekend. If you plan on attending RSVPto UptonLandStewardship@charter.net. All ages and abilities are welcome to join.The plan is to remove barbed wire, move fence and other construction materials to work sites and cut back vegetation. Meet at Sweetwilliam Farm on North Street on the south end of the pasture near the sign. Park on the street or, if you have a car that can handle it, in our future parking area. There are poison ivy and the ticks. Wear protective clothing and bring work gloves. Water and snacks will be provided. If you have them, bring: wire cutters, pruners, loppers, shovels and rakes.
