Fourth of July Parades, Fireworks and Other Events in and around Upton

Wednesday July 3rd

The Mendon Fire Department will host the annual Horribles parade. Lineup for the parade is at Emerson and Hastings streets at 6 p.m. The parade is open to children of all ages and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The parade will proceed on Maple Street to the Town Hall parking lot. Prizes will be awarded after the parade.

Milford will present its Fourth of July fireworks show at 10 p.m. July 3 at Plains Park, on Cedar Street. The show begins at 10 p.m.  Rain date is same time, July 5.

The Millbury Lions Club will sponsor its annual carnival from 6 to 11 p.m. at Windle Field, Canal Street. A fireworks display will begin at dusk, about 9:30 p.m. The fireworks are co-sponsored by the Millbury Bicentennial Committee. This event will run July 3 and July 4.

In Worcester the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra will kick off the Summer Concert Series at 8 p.m. at Cristoforo Colombo Park on Shrewsbury Street. The park will open at 6 p.m. with Kids Korner activities and food. A ceremonial flag-raising will begin the festivities at 7:45 p.m. A fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. The rain date is July 5.

Webster Lake the gates open at noon for food and entertainment; fireworks will begin at dusk, about 9 p.m., at Memorial Beach, Route 193. Admission is $10 per carload, $2 per person for walk-ins.

Thursday July 4th

Bellingham will present it’s Fourth of July fireworks show at 9 p.m. on July  4, at the High School, on 100 Blackstone Street. Rain Date, July 5.

Shrewsbury will host a Family Day Fourth of July Celebration will be from noon to 4 p.m. at Dean Park, 785 Main St.

Old Sturbridge Village will hold an Independence Day Celebration that will include the signing of a huge copy of the Declaration of Independence, taking part in a Citizen’s Procession and playing old-fashioned base ball. At 1 p.m. visitors may witness 85 people from 42 countries take the oath of citizenship in front of a federal judge and dignitaries on the Village Common. The celebration will be from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1 Old Sturbridge Village Road. The cost is $24; seniors, $22; children 3-17, $8, and children 2 and younger, free. Fireworks, music and magic will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Old Sturbridge Village.
