Joelle Vautour, the Management Forester for the DCR Midstate District, will lead a hike through Upton State Forest on August 26 at 1 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
While hiking you will visit the area the DCR harvested several years ago and trek Park Road to view other areas of the forest which have not had any management. Joelle will point out and discuss various plants.
The group will meet at the Headquarters building at Upton State Forest near the intersection of Westborough and Southborough Roads. The GPS address is 205 Westborough Road, Upton. The hike will be a moderate two to three hour hike with some hills and uneven footing.
Plan on brining water, insect repellant an suscreen. A liability waiver is required. Children are welcome with parents supervision. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
