Quaker Street in Northbridge was closed for several hours this morning after a fatal car accident between the Upton town line and School Street. The Telegram and Gazette is reporting the following regarding the accident..
One driver is dead and another suffered serious injuries after a head-on crash on Quaker Street his morning. Police said a Ford Explorer apparently drifted across the center line into the path of an oncoming landscape truck just after 8 this morning.
The driver of the Explorer was pronounced dead at Milford Regional Medical Center.
“There were witnesses, and the Explorer drifted without braking,” said Northbridge Police Lt. Timothy Labrie. The large landscape truck was driving north on Quaker Street and the Explorer was headed south.
The driver of the Ford Explorer was taken by ambulance to Milford Regional. The driver of the landscape truck was taken by Life Flight to UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester with serious injuries.
