The 25th annual Whitin Five Mile Road Race and Two Mile Healthwalk will be held on Thanksgiving, November 28th at the Whitin Community Center in Whitinsville. The start time is 8:10 in the morning. The race is a tradition for the approximately 1000 runners and walkers who participate in the event and its festivities. The race offers cash and merchandise awards, long sleeve cotton tee shirts guaranteed to those entered by November 16, Whitin Five mugs are given to the first 50 finishers (an old tradition when the race was held back in the ‘70’s), a certified measured course, great refreshments, coffee, raffles, and hot showers. Everyone is always in great spirits, as Thanksgiving is the beginning of our holiday season and starting the day with some physical exercise and camaraderie will help make the day special. The proceeds from the race are donated to the Whitin Community Center and the Massachusetts Audubon Society in Worcester. You may enter the race online at racewire.com or go to http://www.whitinfive.com to download an entry form.
