A Mendon 6th grader named Matthew is up for artist of the week in Artsonia’s national weekly art contest.
Artsonia is the world’s largest online student art museum. Alice Gentili, the 5th and 6th grade art teacher at Miscoe Hill, began using the online art museum for her students art work a couple of years ago. The museum is a free online education program for schools, teachers, and parents which allows students to share their artwork. For a fee students can order prints, create calendars, magnets and other gifts from their artwork which has been uploaded to the online program. Students still bring their original artwork home.
Each week Artsonia nominates certain art pieces for their Artist of the Week contest, this week Matthew from Mendon has been nominated.
The winning “Artist of the Week” will be featured on the Artsonia homepage during the upcoming week (starting on Sunday) and will receive a commemorative plaque from Artsonia. The winner will also receive $50 gift certificate and the winners art teacher will receive $100 girft certificate from Blick Art Materials.
You can vote for Matthew’s artwork by clicking the link HERE, voting is open through the end of the week. Below is the artwork and number for Matthew’s submitted art piece.
