The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a winter weather advisory which is in effect for the Upton area until 6 a.m. Saturday.
Rain will quickly change to sleet and then snow between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. with brief heavy snow possible overnight. Visibility will be reduced to one-quarter to one half miles at time and snow-covered roads will result in hazardous driving conditions. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches with a trace of ice is predicted. If the changeover from sleet to snow is delayed there will be less snow, if it occurs earlier a burst of heavier snow is possible with higher accumulations.
