Black Ice Warning for Later Tonight

winterweatherThe National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement warning of  black ice developing later tonight. According to the hourly weather forecast temps will drop below 32 degrees around 10 p.m. and continue to drop throughout the evening. Use caution tonight and in the morning.

BLACK ICE IS LIKELY TONIGHT AS TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW FREEZING…

RAIN/DRIZZLE CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT TWO TO THREE HOURS ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. THE GROUND IS ALREADY WET AND TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO DROP BELOW FREEZING LATE TONIGHT. THIS MAY RESULT IN PATCHES OF BLACK ICE…PARTICULARLY ON UNTREATED ROADS AND SIDEWALKS. MOTORISTS AND PEDESTRIANS SHOULD USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.
