Mendon Upton Regional School District Superintendent Dr. Joseph Maruszczak was asked to join the Superintendent Advisory Council to the Department of Elementary and Second Education.
The Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents and Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education Mitchell Chester agreed to start the council to have constructive conversation and work out realistic timelines for the implementation of all which encompasses Race to the Top.
Dr. Maruszczak said, “It’s a dizzying and overwhelming list of initiatives and the Association of State Superintendents has really been working hard to work constructively with our Commissioner Mitchell Chester and his senior staff to have reasonable expectations and timelines for implementing all of the initiatives.”
The council will be made up of the Commissioner and his senior staff as well as a representative from each of the counties in Massachusetts. Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Executive Director Thomas Scott asked Dr. Maruszczak to represent Worcester County.
