ALS Dinner Fundraiser – 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Nipmuc Regional High School. $10 at the door. Enjoy delicious food, raffles, guest speakers, and guests will have the chance to win autographed items by Curt Schilling. Raising funds for ALS –  Lou Gehrig’s disease.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum – 7 p.m. at Milford High School performed by the Milford Public Schools Faculty.  A  hilarious story of young love, mistaken identities, disguises, and surprises in the winding streets of ancient Rome. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. All proceeds will be used to create an Emergency Fund for Milford students and their families who suffer a fire or other calamity.

Public Skating at Blackstone Valley Ice Arena in Hopedale – 11 a.m. to 12:50

Guided Winter Hike at West Hill Dam – 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. – Explore one of the natural treasures within the watershed.  Susan Thomas, BRWA Program Assistant and a natural history guide for Mass Audubon, will guide a scenic hike through pine and oak woodlands, along the West River, and past open meadows of this vibrant wildlife management area. Along the way, Ms. Thomas will share her knowledge of the plants and animals of the area, as well as the hydrological features of this federally managed flood control project.   This will be a moderate, 3-mile hike. The ground is uneven and could be snow-covered or muddy depending on the weather. Flora in Winter Worcester Art Museum – Breathtaking flowers bloom in the galleries during our annual Flora in Winter four-day fundraiser. During this premier floral design event, skilled arrangers from across the region create captivating and imaginative interpretations of artworks in virtually every gallery of the Museum. It is a succulent feast for the eyes and spirit in the middle of winter.

Goss Pond Hike – 1 p.m. Explore on of Upton’s Treasures   – The small pond near the West River is fringed by a floating bog mat which is most easily accessed in winter.  On the hike you will see black spruce and perhaps other bog plants poking through the snow and take an optional hike to the West River.  For questions or cancellation notices send an email to uptonopenspaceevents@charter.net.
