On Monday February 10 the Nipmuc Girls Varsity Basketball team defeated Hopedale in overtime securing a spot in the district tournament play.
Varsity Coach Jessica Grady said, “The win over Hopedale was very exciting….It was a battle between two teams that have a lot of heart.” Coach Grady told the girls prior to the game this game was just as important to Hopedale as Hopedale was also looking to qualify for the tournament. “We talked about how the game was most likely going to come down to the wire with whoever wanted it most,” said Grady.
Coach Grady said, “We’ve had an exciting season, and have played a lot of very talented teams. The girls put in a lot of hard work in the off-season and the regular season to get them where they are. We are very happy to be in the position that we are in right now, and are really looking forward to post-season play!”
