Nipmuc Students return to building after smoke found in electrical closet
The Upton Fire Department and Police Department are on scene at Nipmuc Regional High School for smoke which was coming from an electrical closet. The students were evacuated while the Fire Department investigated. The electric has been shut off at the school and the situation is under control.
Upton Police Chief Bradley said the students have since returned to building and are staying in the gym where the will stay until they air out the building.
The first and second floors have been given the all clear. The fire department is keeping the 3rd floor blue wing closed at this time while they continue to air it out to remove the odor of smoke, there is no smoke at this time.
All students are safe.
