Joe McMahon, Commander of the George L. Wood VFW Post, declared his request to be considered as a write-in candidate for the Upton Cemetery Committee.
Joe has spent most of his life as an Upton resident and has four children with his wife Marie Saucier McMahon. His son Marc lives in town and sons Adam and Ethan are married, live in Sutton and are both volunteer firefighters/EMTs for Sutton, and his son Ryan lives in Florida. Joe is a proud grandfather of two granddaughters, Kayla and Jillian and four grandsons Jared, Cameron, Nathan and Liam.
Joe is a member of the Marshall Leland American Legion Post, St. Gabriel’s Choir, Westboro Community Chorus, Upton Men’s Softball and Library Trustees. He was awarded the President’s Gold Pin for contributing more than 500 hours of charitable community work in 2013.
“I am a very appreciate of the work accomplished by the Cemetery Commissioners of Leo Lamanuzzi, Bob Richards, and Richard Randall and want to be sure that level quality is maintained,” Joe said.
