If you haven’t figured it out by now…I love the zoo.
Recently I was able to take advantage of my Earth Limited Membership at Southwick’s Zoo and attended an evening event. It’s amazing to be at the zoo after hours. You can tell the animals are used to having the place to themselves after closing. The little monkey was under his blanket. The lions played freely and the Giraffes had tucked themselves away for the evening….and the woodchucks sneak in to steal the kangaroo food.

The zoo is not the animal’s natural habitat and therefore the animals can never be truly happy… At a zoo they don’t have the space they should have, they are not free… Truth is they are caged and they don’t like it… Yes those photos are cute but you should not support zoo’s because the animals are not living the life they deserve, they can never be fully happy.physically, emotionally, and mentally… They are confined to a small space, a space people have decided is big enough for them when in reality it is not big enough, it’s like comparing the ocean to a small pool… They are caged for peoples entertainment which is just so wrong on many levels….. Let them be free and live the life they want/need/deserve in the wild… DO NOT support zoo’s….
