2014 Upton PMC Kids Ride
For the past ten years the Upton Police Department has hosted the PMC Upton Kids Ride but sadly they will not be continuing the tradition this year.
The PMC Upton Kids ride was started by PMC veterans former Chief of Police Thomas Stockwell and Sgt. Lisa Vass who have both lost family to cancer. They were inspired by Stockwell’s grandson Owen to start the kids ride. Owen saw his grandfather taking part in the Pan Mass Challenge and wanted to do something similar to the ride but with kids so he could participate.
Last year the ride raised $18,000 for the Jimmy Fund.
Police Chief Bradley said over the years rider and volunteer participation has continued to decrease due to the addition of other local rides.
If you are looking for a PMC Kids ride to participate in both Franklin and Grafton/Shrewsbury have PMC Kids Rides scheduled in June.
