Nipmuc Junior elected President of the Central District of Mass Student Councils Executive Board

eliNipmuc Regional High School Junior Eli Tamagni was elected President of the Central District of Massachusetts Student Councils Executive Board (CDMASC) for the 2014-2015 school year.

The CDMASC consists of 35 schools from around the Worcester and Middlesex counties. It is the largest of the five Student Council regions in Massachusetts.

Eli had  previously served as a delegate on the on executive board for CDMASC. “This year has been one of the best of my life, a great deal for the reason that I was fortunate enough to be a member of this executive board. They have become some of my best friends, and greatest inspiration,” Eli said.

Deciding to run for President seemed like a logical next step for Eli. “I wanted to take everything I learned as delegate to the next level,” said Eli.

Eli campaigned on the slogan “Like a good neighbor, Eli is there! Vote Eli for CDMASC President”. He created t-shirts for his campaigners, constructed posters, and ordered hundreds of pairs of sunglasses with his slogan to hand out.

On April 16th Eli presented his speech in front of over 400 student council members from schools all over central Massachusetts.

“Student council has been the most important thing to me in high school, and I’m glad to be chosen to such a position of high importance. I cannot wait to inspire others to be better leaders themselves,” Eli said.

As president Eli will also serve as an officer on the Massachusetts Association of Student Councils (MASC) Executive Board and attend meetings throughout the year for both MASC and CDMASC. He will take on a leadership roles at the MASC Summer Camp, Annual State Conference at Hyannis, and Officer Shop.
