Upton Weather: Wet end to the work week will turn pleasantly nice by Fathers Day

Overview: A disturbance along a stationary front will move into the region on Thursday, bringing with it clouds, fog, and scattered showers.

Afterward, a more vigorous storm system will develop and move into the area late Thursday Night into Friday. This will be associated with periods of widespread showers and storms. The heaviest and most persistent rain will occur between Friday morning and early Friday evening.

A ridge of high pressure will build and move in from the west on Saturday. This will result in gradually clearing for Saturday and mostly sunny skies for Fathers Day. High temperatures will rebound into the mid 70s to around 80F for both Saturday and Sunday.

Thursday, June 12th:  Patchy fog possible in the morning. Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers.  Rainfall amount less than .10”. High temperature around 66F. Winds from the west-northwest at 15-20 mph.

Thursday Night:  Mostly cloudy with isolated rain showers during the evening. Scattered showers developing during the overnight, with some patchy fog possible in the morning. Rainfall amount less than .10”.  Low temperature around 59F. Winds from the west-northwest at 5-10 mph.

Friday, June 13th: Patchy fog possible in the morning. Periods of rain and storms developing during the morning.  Rainfall amounts between .25-.75”, with locally heavier amounts possible. High temperature around 70F. winds from the west –northwest switching to from the west-southwest at 10-15 mph.

Friday Night: Showers and storms during the evening, then becoming more scattered during the overnight. Some locally heavy downpours possible during the evening. Low temperature around 60F.

Saturday, June 14th:  Isolated showers and storms in the morning, then partly cloudy skies by the afternoon. High temperature around 76F. Low temperature around 55F. 

Sunday, June 15th: Mostly sunny. High temperature around 80F. Low temperature around 55F.
