On Saturday, June 21 two Upton boys worked a lemonade stand to raise money for the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund.
Bryson Fitts and Nicholas Nasuti of Upton earned $55 in sales and donated it all towards the fund.
“We decided to donate to the Military Heroes fund because we love them serving our country,” said Bryson, age 9. He hopes to make the families of those who have lost loved ones “a little more happy.”
Nic, age 9. said, “It is sad when you lose your dad or mom in war. We wanted to help.”
Bryson and Nic’s favorite part of the day was making lemonade and earning enough money to donate to the fund.

In 2013 Lieutenant Colonel James Maloney rededicated the building in honor of three of his friends who were killed in Afghanistan, adding a plaque in their memory. The stone was given to Upton in 1921 to recognize George Knowlton who purchased the property for the American Legion and the building was dedicated in honor of Clifton G. Marshall who died in action in 1918. Photo submitted by A Little Common Sense
