Certified Trainer Michelle Bredice Craemer’s “Walking to Running” program through A Little Common Sense just finished up and residents are hooked on running.Beginning in April participants trained in a small group and progressed from walking to running a 5k distance in ten weeks. Each session was tailored to meet the needs and fitness levels of the group.“It was such a wonderful, motivated group of women. They all reached their individual goals and they are all runners now,” said Craemer. Each session began and ended at A Little Common Sense in Upton and according to Craemer it was a perfect location.

Kim Stewart of Upton can’t say enough about the program and how motivated she was by Michele Craemer. Kim joined the program because she wanted to run with her daughter who was doing her first year of cross-country at Miscoe. “Before the program I could not keep up with her, let alone run a mile straight. But now I am happy to say I can run three miles straight and it feels great. In fact I’m doing my first 5k ,” said Stewart. “Michele encourages you and gives you great tips…. Reaching my goal feels great… I’m hooked,” Stewart said.

Craemer said she will be implementing another program in the fall and possibly adding a program for experienced runner as well.
