Dry end to the work week will yield to stormy weather for later in the weekend

jebby Meteorologist Jeb Postle

Overview: An area of low pressure that was responsible for the heavy rain and storms yesterday has already moved out of the area.  In its wake, a closed area of high pressure will remain over the province of Quebec through the first half of the weekend. This will result in a chance of showers for northern New England, while it will remain dry with some clouds mixing in over our area. Temperatures will be comfortable, with highs expected in the low to mid 70s

The best day for outdoor activities this weekend looks to be during the day Saturday, as a cold front will move through the region late Saturday into Sunday with a chance of showers and storms. Behind the cold front, a ridge of high pressure will build in over the region for the start of the work week.
