It’s a problem with Charter’s DNS servers. You can restore your Internet connection by instead using Google’s DNS servers. Get in to your router settings and look for Primary and Secondary DNS. Note their current addresses. Change to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Restart your router and you should be good to go.

This has worked with windows XP, windows 7, windows 8.1, and a Mac.

  1. Don’t forget to to call them and get credit for their outage. We pay them way too much. Charter is 888-438-2427.
