MPAC Announces Its Annual Open House

mpacsummerThe Milford Performing Arts Center presents its 24th Annual Open House on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 150 Main Street (MA Route 16 East), Milford.  Come meet the staff, tour the facility, and learn about MPAC’s programs in theater, music, and visual arts for all ages and levels of ability.

Since 1991 MPAC has provided classes in music, performing arts and visual arts as well as private instruction in voice and piano.  Resident performing groups include:

·         Canticle, an intergenerational choral ensemble;

·         Just Add Water, a teen a cappella singing group;

·         Treble Makers, a vocal group for ages 10 and up;

·         Class Act and Class Act, Too, improvisational theater troupes for ages 11 and up; and

·         Full Circle, an adult theater company for both plays and musicals.  Recent plays performed include The Diary of Anne Frank and Neil Simon’s Rumors.  Recent musicals include Into the Woods, The Drowsy Chaperone, and the upcoming The Addams Family.  We offer workshops in the performing and visual arts during school vacations.

MPAC theatrical productions for children include Halloween and Christmas musicals, plus our annual Spring Musical for children and young adults, past productions which have included The Sound of Music, Cinderella, and Bye, Bye Birdie.  MPAC shows and actors appear regularly on Milford TV and WMRC AM-1490 as well.
