The Mendon Upton Regional School District posted this photo on their facebook page stating, “The Nipmuc Warriors lost a hard-fought, close game to Grafton, 30-23. Much to be proud of and build upon for a winning season. Go Warriors!”
On Saturday September 13, 2014 Nipmuc battled Grafton in their first game of the season.
According to the Worcester Telegram the Grafton Indians scored first with a 39-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Nipmuc came back in the second quarter when Quarterback Derek DeMarzo reached Grant Jorgensen with a 58-yard touchdown pass. Nipmuc then took the lead when DeMarzo connected again with Jorgensen for a 15-yard touchdown. Nipmuc went into halftime 13-7.
Grafton scored two touchdowns in the first five minutes of the second half and then a defensive turnover turned into a touchdown for Grafton. Nipmuc rallied but was not able to turn the score around.
