Update: A sudden change in the forecast has occurred, with rain expected to move into the area late tomorrow morning and continuing into the early morning hours of Friday.
As I previously forecasted, I initially thought the area of high pressure currently over the region would be able hold off an area of low pressure to the south from moving into our region. However, this is not the case anymore as the ridge of high pressure will break down and allow for a coastal low to brush the area. You can expect clouds and periods of rain through early Friday morning.
The good news is the rain should move out quickly, allowing for a return of sunny weather and a return of warmer temperatures beginning Friday afternoon and continuing into the weekend. The following is my updated short term forecast through the day Friday.
Thursday, September 25th: mostly cloudy with periods of rain moving in after 8 A.M. Rainfall amounts between .10-.25”. 50 percent chance of rain. High temperature around 59F. Winds from the northeast at 5-10 mph.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy with periods of rain mainly before 10 PM then a slight chance of showers during the overnight. Rainfall amounts between .10-.25”. 50 percent chance of rain. Light winds from the east-northeast. Low temperature around 53F. Winds from the northeast at 5-10 mph.
Friday, September 26th: Morning clouds will give ways to breaks of sun late morning through the afternoon. High temperature around 70F. Winds from the northeast at 5-10 mph.
