Today Upton Police Officers completed Intranasal Naloxone (Narcan) certification as part of their First Responder Training. Narcan is a medication used to reverse the effects of a heroin or prescription drug overdose.
Upton Officers were trained to recognize an opiate overdose and how to administer Narcan. Often the police are the first to arrive at the scene of an overdose.
