Rainy Thursday, then a mostly dry end to the week

A vigorous storm system has moved into the area, providing periods of heavy rain and a return of cloudy weather. The good news is that this storm system will move out of the area by late tonight-early Friday morning, allowing for a weak area of high pressure to build in for day Friday.

A cold front will move through the region on Saturday, providing an increase in clouds and a slight risk of showers late in the day Saturday. Behind this frontal passage, cool weather will return to the area.

Forecast

Today, October 16^th: Mostly cloudy with periods of rain and embedded thunderstorms. Some heavy downpours likely. 70 percent chance of rain. .50”-1” of rainfall possible. High temperature around 67F. Winds from the south-southeast at 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with periods of rain and embedded thunderstorms continuing, mainly ending before 2 AM. A slight risk of showers after 2 A.M. Some heavy downpours likely. 70 percent chance of rain. .50-1” of rainfall possible.  Patchy fog possible during the overnight. Low temperature around. Winds from the south-southeast at 5-10 mph.

Friday, October 17^th: Partly cloudy. High temperature around 71F. Winds from the southwest at 10-15 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Patchy fog possible toward daybreak. Low temperature around 50F. Winds from the southwest at 10-15 mph.

Saturday, October 18^th: Patchy fog possible during the morning. Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers during the afternoon. 20 percent chance of rain. High temperature around 69F.  Low temperature around 42F.

Sunday, October 19^th: Partly cloudy. High temperature around 51F. Low temperature around 32F.
