On Tuesday October 14, 2014 Upton Police and Fire responded to a rollover involving a utility pole on East Street. According to Upton Police Chief Bradley a single occupant suffered a minor cut to his hand when exiting his vehicle after the roll over. “He was transported to Milford Regional Hospital,” said Chief Bradley. Power was not interrupted by the crash, although a short outage may have occurred during the repair of the utility pole. According to Chief Bradley the driver reported he was removing his sweatshirt and went off the roadway striking the pole. Chief Bradley said, “A citation will be issued for impeded operation and failure to stay within marked lanes.”
