The Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton and Upton is hosting a Chocolate Festival to benefit Jen White Memorial Fund on Sunday, October 19 from 2-4pm at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton and Upton located at 3 Grafton Common. Come help yourself to all you can eat: there will be tables piled high with chocolate cakes, cookies, cocoa, candy and other delectable delights! Bob Nicoll and Barry Hall will be providing music to go along with the dessert tasting.

The entrance fee is $10 for all you can eat, while supplies last. All proceeds go to the Jen White Memorial Fund to support her family in this difficult time of transition.

If you can make a donation of a chocolate dessert for the festival, please bring it on Sunday, October 19th for the morning service or any time before 2pm.

On July 7, 2014, UUSGU and Grafton Community lost a shining star when Jen White passed away unexpectedly at home. Jen was a devoted wife and mother, a caring friend, and a vibrant member of our community. She was a modern Renaissance woman – an artist; an author; a gardener and horticulturist; an entrepreneur; a professor at the New England Institute of the Arts; an avid reader. Jen became a passionate world traveler and a connoisseur of diverse cultures through house swapping with people all over the world. Her optimism, joy, and curiosity were infectious.

A committed member of the Grafton community, she shared her passions on many arenas. She was a founding member of the Grafton Fine Arts & Music Festival; a founder of a Grafton book club; an active volunteer with the Community Harvest Project, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton and Upton, Grafton’s public schools, and community theatre arts; and a fervent social activist who put her ideas into action.

Jen was most dedicated to her family, husband Mark and children, Colin and Devon, who were the center of her universe. Inspired by Jen’s great passion for life, we would like to honor Jen’s many gifts to our community by supporting her family in their time of great loss.

Please consider donating a dessert and joining us on Sunday, October 19th at 2pm for some chocolate and music.
