A clipper system is currently moving through the great lakes, providing rain and some snow mixed on the backside. This marks the leading edge of the coldest air mass of the season thus far that will eventually make its way into our region. At the same time, a coastal area of low pressure will form off the coast of the North Carolina and will move to the north and east. As the two systems merge, it will bring periods of rain and windy conditions to the region from late tonight through Sunday afternoon. As the storm begins to the depart on the day Sunday, enough cold air will be in place for some snow flakes to mix in over the area. The good news is that no snow accumulation is expected from this storm across the area.
