Superintendent Dr. Joseph Maruszczak announced at the December 8, 2014 school committee meeting that Clough Elementary received a $2,000 grant from Stop and Shop and the Hockomock YMCA to establish a garden with various vegetables. The twelve by twenty four foot garden will be placed in the front of the school.

“I think this is something that is real exciting. There is some very natural connections to both the science and also the health and wellness curriculum. So I’m really excited to see this move forward at Clough,” said Maruszczak.

The vision is to incorporate parent volunteers and volunteers from the Mendon Senior Center to work with students and staff and to assist during the non-school months.
