UPTON – Gerald J. Lapierre, 80, a lifelong Upton resident, died Fri., Jan. 9, 2015 in his home after an illness. He was the husband of Jacquelyn F. (Teachout) Lapierre.Mr. Lapierre was born in Upton, a son of the late Joseph and Corena (Paille) Lapierre. He was a gas station attendant in West Upton for many years and had previously worked for Bay State Abrasives and Somerville Lumber. He enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Rose Garden Monday Night Pitch League.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, he leaves a son, Richard Lapierre of Upton; two daughters,
Karen Grimes and her husband Jeff of Attleboro, and Kimberly Broome and her husband David of Northbridge; 2 sisters, Rose Marie Horton and Linda LaBastie, both of Mendon; 5 grandchildren, Eoin and Erin Grimes of Attleboro, Nicole Hagan of Mendon, Chloe Lapierre of Mashpee, and Lexi Martin of Hopkinton; and 2 great-grandchildren, Emma and Cameron Hagan of Mendon. He was also the brother of the late Joseph, Roger, Francis, and Everett Lapierre and Florence Pope.
Following cremation, graveside services will be held in Lakeview Cemetery, North Main St., Upton at 10 a.m. on Thurs., Jan. 22.
Memorial calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 21, in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton (www.uptonfunerals.com).
