Chief Horn of Mendon is reminding residents of the potentially historic winter storm predicted to hit the area Monday and Tuesday which may bring as much as three feet of snow along with heavy winds.
National Grid is predicting significant power outages during the height of the storm. Mendon Public Safety is asking everyone to prepare accordingly, make sure you have adequate supplies of batteries, flashlights, food, water, and prescription medicines, for what they anticipate will likely be a protracted period of difficulty.
According to an announcement on their facebook, Mendon Public Safety departments will have additional staff on to assist residents during the storm and said they have the capability to provide emergency back up power for those who are confined to their residence and who may be on home oxygen or home dialysis.
