Mendon Upton superintendent Dr. Joseph Maruszczak announced that the district’s four schools will be open at normal times tomorrow, Thursday January 29.
“Today’s snow day was definitely necessary given the scope of cleanup that is required,” said Maruszczak.
Maruszczak is advising parents to exercise caution when traveling to and from school and bus stops. “If your children walk to a bus stop, please ensure that there is appropriate supervision. If you live in a development where children use sidewalks to walk to the bus stop, please ensure the sidewalks are shoveled,” said Maruszczak.
“I believe the DPW departments have done a fine job. However, because of the sheer volume of snow, there are only so many places it may be dumped. Therefore, many of the secondary roads are more narrow than usual and there are very large snowbanks at many intersections. Because of these conditions, I ask that you exercise caution,” Maruszczak said.
