Watch out for black ice overnight Friday and Saturday morning

blackice

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement warning that untreated roadways may become slick and slippery with black ice.

A combination of snow-melt and falling snow has resulted in slushy we roadways which will freeze up when the overnight temperatures drop into the teens.

Those traveling overnight and into the morning are urged to allow extra time and use caution.

    1. Greg, I’m so glad you posted. I lost your contact information. I handed the album over to the Upton Historical Society in August. They were in the middle of preparing for Upton History Day and Barbara Burke who was in charge was finishing up a book.

Barbara said there were several photos in the album that she had never seen. One in particular was the one of Upton Center snow covered. She noted that the photo with the Town Hall had gas street lamps in it. They said they would research the photos after she was done with her book and that several of the photos would be included in their next publication.

Here is the link of the post I put together with some of the information she provided. I will reach out to the Historical Society again to see if they can do some additional research on them.

I am so glad you contacted me.
