Pleasant Street Upton Monday 2/9
Superintendent Dr. Joseph Marusczak announced Monday evening there will be a 2 hour delay in the MURSD tomorrow, Tuesday, 2/10 to allow for further clean up. He advised Nipmuc students who drive to school to drive slowly tomorrow and allow extra time to get to school.
During tonight’s school committee meeting Marusczak spoke briefly about snow days noting today is the fifth snow day which makes the last day of school Monday, June 22.
Marusczak will place the topic of snow days on the agenda for the next school committee meeting. “I think we do have to plan, say we have to call another snow day on Friday,” he said. Some of the possibilities are to make up a snow day are using a professional development day, Good Friday, or April vacation. He did note that at this time no adjustment in the school calendar is required. “We are not at the point of hitting that panic button,” he said.
The school committee formed a subcommittee last year to develop a plan on how the district would make up snow days and possibly make adjustments to the districts school calendar for the FY15-16 school year.
