The Upton Fire Department  responded to Christian Hill Road this morning after the roof collapsed on a vacant building due to the weight of snow and ice. The Upton Fire Department recommends residents remove accumulations of snow from their roof if they have the ability to do it safely.

The Town of Upton issued a Public Safety Advisory on the dangers associates with heavy snow loads on roofs which includes potential signs of imminent roof collapse, tips on removing snow and ice from roofs, and what to do if you have a problem. Here is a link to the advisory.
