Upton Midshipman earns Gold Star Academic Achievement

Midshipman Owen Michael Bradley of Upton received the Gold Star for Academic Achievement for the first trimester from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point, NY.  The Gold star is awarded for a grade point average of a 3.5 or better, equivalent to being named to the Dean’s List. The United States Merchant Marine Academy is charged with training officers for The United States Merchant Marine, all branches of the military or the transportation industry.  It is known for having the hardest academics out of all five of the military academies.  Midshipman Bradley is a 2014 graduate of Nipmuc Regional High School.  He was nominated to the Academy by Sen. Jim McGovern and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.  He is the son of Michael and Tammy Bradley.
