Minor MVA involving School Bus on Chestnut St 3/5 – photo courtesy of Upton Police
This morning the Upton Police responded to multiple motor vehicle crashes. According to the police, “Icy roads and narrow lane conditions played a contributing factor in this mornings crashes, all of which were minor and did not result in any injuries.”
Upton PD responded to a vehicle sliding off the roadway on Mendon Street and to a two vehicles crash on East Street. The East Street incident involved two cars colliding as they tried to pass each other on the narrow road. There was also an incident involving a car sliding into a school bus on Chestnut Street.
Upton Police said, “While we continue to deal with the winter weather and large snow banks, it is important to continue to use an abundance of caution while navigating the narrow roadways.”

This is BS, the DPW Needs to get its act together and widen the roads and push back piles at corners after EVERY snowfall on EVERY street in town. Every street. Every corner. We all pay the same freaking taxes and should be treated equally.
OK, the road in that photo is NOT plowed wide enought for two vehicles to pass, yet alone a bus and a car. Where is the DPW, Asleep at the switch? There is NO excuse for ANY of our roads to continue to be this narrow. The town needs to keep the plows out working until this is resolved.
